WHAT IS A CALORIE??????

A calorie “IS NOT” an indication that a person will gain weight!!!!!

A calorie is only a measurement of energy. Definition of a calorie is the amount of energy needed to raise one kilogram of water one degree Centigrade. A calorie does not have any bearing on weight gain!!!!!

Any protein or fat you ingest can’t make you fat!!!!  Protein/fat does not release insulin in your body, which means that glucose can’t be burned or stored as fat. The only thing you eat that can spike insulin is a carbohydrate. The low fat/ fat free advertisements that tell you that you are eating healthier and staying thin are WRONG!!!

If a person eats 3,000 calories of fat/protein they won’t gain weight. A person who eats 1500 calories of processed foods, low fat foods, snacks, etc can and will gain weight.

A person can eat a 1000 calories of nuts and not gain weight; however, if they eat  100 calories of nuts and combines that with chips, snacks, soda, sugar, etc , he will gain weight.

What typically happens is a person will eat some type of fat and then combine it with bread or some other carbohydrate. The carbohydrate will raise insulin and whatever is not burned immediately will be stored as fat.  Our nation still thinks fat makes us fat. Fat only makes us fat when they eat carbohydrates.

“Sugar Busters” is a great book to read if you want to go deeper.
